Find your stolen iPod’s serial number in iTunes

In order to report your iPod stolen with the police, Apple and a website site registry like stolen911.com, you’ll need the serial number. If you did not write it don’t worry, you can find the serial number in your iTunes software.
- Open up iTunes and go to HELP…
- then Run Diagnostic…
- then iPod Diagnostics.
- Look for the “last connected iPod serial number”.
There will be about 11 digits that are the serial number. Now you can report the iPod stolen to the police and get it listed on stolen911.com. If anyone runs the number in a search engine like Google, they will know the iPod is stolen.

Someone stole my Red Ipod Nano at my party a couple nights ago, in the Portland Oregon area. It was the one that had video too. The best thng to do is to just get a new one. My 8gb ipod touch was stolen 3 days ago. I got it for Christmas from my mom. If someone stole your ipod theyre probably not going to keep it(if they need money) they’ll just go sell it and it will keep going on and on. So just go buy a new one. AND REMEMBER TO KEEP IT ON YOU AT ALL TIMES, (people these days are just so selfish)
^ oh i forgot…. change ALL your passwords! Especially your apple ID.. and if you have a touch you should probably change your email and myspace/twitter/facebook (all social networking website) accounts as well just for saftey reasons. Apple is not very helpful either… all thy told me to do was to get in contact with my police department.

Well, if you guys buy an ipod make sure you install tracking software on it otherwise it not trackable at all unless someone with uses it and tampers with it on itunes connected to the internet. the only thing that will trigger a spike is if the stolen ipod is updated from itunes
